Mayor Balen Shah has announced that Kathmandu Metropolitan City has arranged for free treatment for poor citizens of the country. Regardless of their municipality in Nepal, poor patients have been informed that if they provide a recommendation from their local level, they will receive free treatment in Kathmandu.
Balen Shah, the Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolis, made this announcement through his social network: “Regardless of the municipality in Nepal, disabled and poor patients should come to Kathmandu Metropolis with a recommendation letter from their respective municipality. We have 374 beds across 52 hospitals. Treatment will be provided free of charge according to the patients’ needs.

Documents required for facility:
A document or identity card issued by the Nepal government, state government or local government, such as a national identity card, certificate of Nepali citizenship, or birth certificate, recent photograph taken as the target category.
